Hello & welcome back! Anyone know wtf is going on? Colbert’s getting ACTUALLY cancelled, NYC is tropical…but at least Freakier Friday is coming out soon?😬🤷🏻♀️ This isn’t a Brightening Your Screens, so I’m not going to get TOO into the media I’ve been enjoying & wanting to recommend, but current events truly are happening all the time & I have some thoughts.

The mother of BRAT got married this weekend & I have been LOVING the photos, but I especially love Charli’s dress!🥹

If you didn’t know, Charli XCX has been engaged to George Daniel of The 1975 since BRAT summer. They were spotted getting married at a town hall in London complete with family/friend photos being taken out on the front steps. I think what I especially love about this wedding is just how adorably mundane it seems given their public personas. Once Charli announced her engagement theories about the wedding, specifically the reception, immediately started swirling around online. The fact that they just did a cute little town hall wedding is especially charming to me, but who’s to say they won’t still have an incredibly elaborate party to celebrate their union at some point down the line??? Which has been the thought running through my mind as I see discourse online about the party girl not having a big wedding party… MAYBE they’ll simply do as they please? 🤷🏻♀️ If they do, I’ll be excited to see what look(s) Charli chooses, because this midi high low dress somehow just works giving her an effortless bride vibe that I don’t think people are very used to seeing or hearing about! A casual bride is just so chic!🚬

I’m gonna have to exercise some diplomatic restraint posting about this, but in case you haven’t heard, CBS cancelled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this past week. They didn’t fire Stephen Colbert as the host of The Late Show, they straight up cancelled The Late Show. I have a fuck ton of thoughts & opinions on this, but to anyone truly shocked-are you REALLY? The wannabe king who’s actually just the biggest little bitch in all of the land has been waging his own war against the press as well as entertainment professionals who are actually good at their jobs for some time now. One of the many things he wanted to place 100% tariffs on were films produced outside of the United States-why? Because he handles his own presidency just as the bullies in school did during class elections. Remember there was always that 1 shitty boy in the class who’d try to run for class president with a campaign of no homework & longer lunch periods while the teachers would point out they couldn’t actually do that? Yeah…I’ve been thinking about those memories a LOT lately.🙄 It really doesn’t seem to be the land of the free if the guy who wanted to be brand ambassador to the United States has an ego more transparent & thinner than a doily. I’d dub him with the moniker of the goofiest irl supervillain of my time, but that would require him to have a significantly higher level of intelligence than he currently possesses. (TBD on if he has any shred of intelligence to speak of) The Writer’s Guild chapters on both coasts have come together to launch a bribery investigation into the cancellation & calling on NY attorney general Letitia James for assistance. *I* at least will be following the WGA’s efforts as well as The Late Show & Stephen Colbert. Now-just because the show has been cancelled, this doesn’t mean that it’s been taken off the air immediately. They’ve still got jobs until May 2026. I’m very excited to see what the folks over at The Late Show come out with in the meantime, & I hope our figurehead gets knocked off his pretend yet incredibly fragile pedestal VERY soon! But if you guys suddenly become starved for ideas over there, I do believe my next subject would be a very interesting help/collaborator.👀

If I say Jack Schlossberg could be the new Colbert would I be stoned in the town square for it? Well🤷🏻♀️ A new broadcast has started this week by none other than American political offspring Jack Schlossberg aka grandson to JFK aka son of Caroline Kennedy aka nephew of JFK Jr aka great nephew of icon Little Edie. While I wouldn’t necessarily jump off a bridge if everybody else was, it would greatly depend on not only the reasoning but the chosen bridge, I WOULD get into Jack’s van. Enter: Testdrive on YouTube
I’ve been intrigued with Jack’s online presence for some time now, and so far, seeing & hearing more from him in a longer form through his YouTube channel hasn’t made me recoil yet! Jack very much peaked my interest calling out Ryan Murphy on instagram for the creation & filming of his new show American Love Story which will chronicle the love story between JFK Jr & Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. While he’s so far yet to actually show up to confront Ryan Murphy on set, his threats to on his posts have been intriguing nonetheless. How does this tie in with Stephen Colbert? WELL, Jack’s given his new YouTube show the tagline of “Get in my van!” So…what better timing could there be for Stephen Colbert to get into Jack Schlossberg’s van?!?!?? In a world where you can become an ignorant MAGAt, I think it’s a far better choice to be a staunch character such as Little Edie. While some may think Jack’s bringing down the Kennedy name with his social media antics (the New York Post), I think what he’s been doing with his inherited platform is quite interesting. And if I’m right in my assumption about the methods to his alleged online madness, he’s pretty damn clever too. He’s only got 2 videos up right now as part of this series, but I’m at least subscribed & ready to tune in to who WILL get in Jack’s van?🤨🤔
