Question For Lorne
from a child SNL devotee
Hello & welcome back to my free tier! I’ve been mostly hiding away from here and only posting on my paid tier because honestly I felt like this had morphed into another social media platform that started feeling like a similar existence to my current instagram & now dead twitter. I know people are viewing, but *I* am still left wondering how many onlookers are simply being nosy as opposed to who’s actually reading/enjoying. This is what pretty much begins my own descent into posting on a platform significantly less. Throwing pasta to the wall can really only happen for so long until you just feel wasteful for throwing it.
Nevertheless, here I am posting something that’s been on my mind, but unfortunately there’s only 1 man whose opinion seemingly matters in this regard-Lorne Michaels.

I grew up loving & watching SNL before I technically should’ve been allowed to, but my love really ramped up as a teenage performing arts high school student. Every week I was watching & live tweeting along with fellow enthusiasts which luckily for me included a decent number of kids from my own school. It was one of few golden age SNL casts-my teen years were the early-mid 2000s when my 4 favorites of the cycling casts were Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, & Maya Rudolph. (if I had $1 for every time my high school bestie Matt & I would imitate Kristen’s Target Lady character we’d be richer than miss billionaire Taylor Swift)
Despite being an avid weekly teenage fan who later was able to check “Be on SNL” off my accomplishments before turning 30, I still have some very specific beef(s) with Lorne Michaels. My main one being:
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO ALLOW JENNIFER COOLIDGE TO HOST THE SHOW
When watching the SNL 50th anniversary specials, there was a particular person who stood out to me during a portion about writers & performers who had auditioned over the years but ultimately didn’t make the cut for the show. Personally, I couldn’t believe that Lorne would say that Jennifer Coolidge wasn’t right as a cast member for the show, but it hit me as EXTRA odd when I remembered that she IS in fact owed a hosting episode!
Nearly 3 years ago in May of 2023, Jennifer Coolidge had been announced as an upcoming SNL host for the season’s finale with musical guest the Foo Fighters. To no fault of Jennifer or Lorne’s, the writer’s strike began forcing SNL & countless other productions into hiatus… But something that has struck me is that the Foo Fighters were given a make up later that year in October, but as of March 2026 Jennifer Coolidge has yet to host Saturday Night Live.
Personally, I think this is a travesty, and I’m starting to wonder if Lorne has a personal issue with Jennifer… What’s the issue??? She’s comedy GOLD you weirdo! (but also I’d love to come back onto the show ASAP xoxo tysm)
Her dream of playing a dolphin could finally come true!!! Another added gripe to this issue-Bowen Yang & Ego Nwodim are no longer SNL cast members. Two of my most recent cast member favorites that I’m still very much mourning. No offense to current cast, but they were elite. It’s just the truth, and they would’ve absolutely been legendary writing and costar additions to aid Jennifer on the show.
Justice for Jennifer Coolidge. Put her (and me) on the fucking show Lorne don’t be all uncool!
